January 2, 2010 Good Stuff

*Beer from friends. As I write this, I'm drinking my ImPaledAle that Debi and Rich brought me from a local brewery in New York and it's delicious!

*An afternoon spent with family. Went to Serrano's with mom and Michelle tonight to celebrate Michelle finishing school and after that we all went to Borders. I have a hard time sometimes being social with my family and don't know why but I had fun. I bought Jonathan Safron Foer's Eating Animals, Anne Rice's Angel's Time, and Michael Chabon's new autobiography.

*I actually finished my first book of the year on the first day of the year and reviewed it on the second day of the year. And I loved it! Dave McKean's Pictures That Tick. Good Stuff indeed. And I replied to comments on my blog.

*Baths with bath bombs from Lush with bath pillows and Margo Lanagan's Tender Morsels. Perfect.

*Hanes comfort band boxer briefs. Comfy.

*Days off of work.

  1. Days off are always a good thing!..
and you are right about the undies.. others don't see them, and only you know you have new ones on...but for some reason that I can't quite understand... we all feel better wearing new underclothes!

  2. Oh hai :D

Yep, you'll have to put up with my comments here as well...you couldn't pay me to stay away ;)

I love new underwear too. Especially socks :D And oh, how I wish we had Lush here! I'd always go there in the UK and I miss it.

  3. Yay...you bought Eating Animals!!! I haven't read it yet, but I sure hope I manage to get to it soon.

Okay, I'm finally going to admit my ignorance here...what the hell is a bath bomb?

Glad you liked the beer. :D I'll be sure to tell Rich (as he's the connoisseur who picked it out for you).

You know, it's really amazing how the "good stuff" of someone you love can just totally brighten your day as much as your very own "good stuff"! So Chris, thanks again, so very much, for sharing!!! :D :D :D

  5. I need to resume answering comments on my blog. I got really slack on that this year! I hope you continue to find good things everyday. :)

  6. There's nothing quite like fresh new underwear with no holes. :) I forgot to comment on the pills, too. Yep. I may need one, soon. Ever wake up and you just feel like it's not a good idea to get up but you have to, so you do? I think that was a hint that I have a headache coming (because I seem to be on the edge of one), but I knocked my blind kitty off the futon in the night and she just went on like it was no big deal, so I'm going to try to be like my cat, today. :)

  7. Pat, I am SO glad you feel that way :p I thought I was a total freak by being excited about new underwear but I now see that I am not alone :) I wish there were more days off of work! LOL

Ana, Hai! Put up with your comments?! You mean get all happy when I see another comment from you, right? ;) I love how open we are all being about our underwear :p What have I started :/And don't you just love lush! I used to mail order from Canada, but now we actually have a store here! If you come visit, you can buy things!!

Debi, I did by Eating Animals!!! And guess who's getting a bad blogger point on the other blog for it ;) A bath bomb is a little (or big) bomb full of wonderful! They're these things that you put in the tub and they fizz and smell wonderful and make YOU smell wonderful and just make you and your bath feel like heaven! The beer was delicious!! Oh, and Rich is TOTALLY welcome to come over and visit this blog :) It's not like super exclusive, I just didn't want the whole world over here. Your good stuff always brightens my day too Debi, so thanks right back atcha!

Amanda, LOL...Yeah, every now and then we just have to treat ourselves to certain things ;) Like I told Ana, I love what I started here and how open we're all being with our underwear :p

Kelly, It's not as hard of work as I thought it was :p I'm actually enjoying answering my comments again!! I really miss actually communicating with everyone on my blogs!! I hope I find good things too :) I keep getting scared that I'm going to run out :p

Nancy, You can say that again! (about the underwear with no holes :p) Oh no!!! I hope you didn't come down with too bad of a migraine today :( Oh I hate those days so much when you just wake up and know it's going to be a bad one...sounds like blind kitty has a good outlook on life ;)

  8. Blind Kitty is awesome. I know she's sad about her loss of sight because there's a sluggishness and a slump to the way she carries herself, but she's just coping to the best of her ability. You have to admire her for that.
